The Birth Collection — August
Tiger's Eye
Late sun on a field, banded and shifting.
Three pieces that come apart
A chestnut collar for them, a chain for you, and a cluster of three pendants — the tiger's eye, a charm, and a locket that opens to hold a photograph. Wear the cluster on either piece, or split it between you.
- ✦ Natural tiger's eye, vegan leather, gold-plated hardware
- ✦ Locket opens to hold a photograph
- ✦ Pendants clip to either the collar or the chain
- ✦ 30-day returns
One pendant, two ways to wear it
There is no owner's version and no pet's version. There is one pendant.
Some days it hangs at your neck. Some days it hangs from their collar. It cannot do both at once — one of you is always wearing it for the other. At home it usually lives on the collar; when you go away, it comes with you.
That is the point of the whole collection, and it is why we did not make two of everything. Two matching pieces would only prove you bought a set. One piece, passed back and forth for years, proves something else.
What arrives
- ✦The pet collar, plain and unadorned, made for an animal to wear all day. The pendant's spring ring clips onto the collar loop and sits there securely, without working loose.
- ✦The human chain, plain and unadorned, so the same pendant hangs at your neck as it would from any necklace.
- ✦The three-piece pendant: the birth-month stone, the number charm and the hinged locket, which come apart and go back together however you want them arranged.
- ✦Nothing is threaded shut and nothing needs a tool. The pendant lifts off one and onto the other in a second — which is the only thing you have to do to swap it.
Long carried as a stone of strength and confidence
Why tiger's eye for August
Tiger's eye has been called the warrior's stone for a very long time. It carries the colour of late sun on a field, and the bands inside it shift when the light shifts, which is most of its charm. Tradition gives it the toughness of the ground and the brightness of the sun, and sets it down on the side of courage — facing the thing rather than going round it.
For the small dog with the large opinion, and for the one who would like to be braver than he is. Traditionally worn for steadiness, which is why owners often choose it at the start of something that needs concentration: obedience classes, recall practice, the long summer of teaching a puppy to sit still.
These follow the studio’s own stone-per-month system rather than the traditional birthstone list. Want a different stone on the august strap? Write to us — every set is made to order.

Send it back whenever it needs us
Clasps loosen, buckles wear through, and stone goes dull against fur. Whenever that happens — next year or in ten years — send the piece to our Singapore studio and we will re-fit the hardware, or re-string and cleanse the stones, and send it back to you.
- What it covers
- Hardware repairs and replacement, and cleansing or re-stringing the stones.
- What it costs
- The work is free, for as long as the piece is yours. Shipping it to us is not — see below.
- Who it is for
- The person who bought the piece. Stockists and dropshippers are covered by their partner terms instead.
What it does not cover: shipping the piece to our Singapore headquarters, which is yours to arrange and pay for; loss; and a stone broken by being chewed or stood on — though write to us about that last one anyway, because we would rather replace a bead than see a set retired. hello@petscrystals.com
